Last but definitely not least, I get to skip the annoying morning chit chat.Mr. It's small enough so that it doesn't take up much space in my small cubicle, and I am treated each morning to a perfect large mug and a half of freshly-brewed coffee. Not being a morning person, I can't stand going to the break room, not knowing if the coffee there is fresh, or if someone grabbed a cup of it immediately when it started brewing (leaving the rest of the batch on the weak side). Coffee has been making coffeemakers for a while now; and you can tell. Everything about it works perfectly.
This is my first coffee machine and i decided on this one b/c of the reviews on this website. The size is great b/c i'm not a daily coffee drinker and perfect for two people to use.I read about other people's complain about the timer, I don't use it so I don't have any issue with it.Had it for about two months now, and coffee comes out hot everytime. Very happy with my purchase.
MY OLD PROGRAMMABLE MR. COFFEE CARAFE.
Coffee DRX20 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, White HEATING ELEMENT BEGAN TO SLOWLY FAIL TO BREW HOT COFFEE AFTER 1 MONTH OF USE, AND AFTER 6 MONTHS, HEATING ELEMENT COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING. Mr.
COFFEE DRIBBLES EVERYWHERE WHEN POURING FROM THE MR. POURING COFFEE FROM MR.
COFFEE CARAFE IS WORSE THAN USING A PRANK "DRIBBLE CUP" I OWNED WHEN I WAS 12 YEARS OLD. THE INTUITIVE PROGRAMMING AND CLOCK FEATURES ARE EASY TO SEE AND USE.
COFFEE RELIABLY BREWED HOT COFFEE FOR OVER TEN YEARS.
The 4 cup capacity is indeed four 5-ounce cups, not 6-ounce, for a total of 20 ounces. I expect that this is the kind of product that ultimately will be outlawed, if the FDA can get the right to regulate it.
I could barely drink it (and wouldn't have had I been less in need of caffeine). This was with the same type and amount of coffee I always use.
I bought this with great hopes, but the first cup of coffee, even though I carefully followed the instructions to rinse, etc., tasted and smelled VERY much like plastic, as another reviewer had warned. So I took it back.
I carefully measured 1/4 cup of ground coffee per 12 ounces of water, rather than relying on the pot's markings. Considering the dangers of BPA in hard plastics (see the Milwaukee Journal on this, at [.].), it seems foolish to drink anything that reeks of plastic.
Oh, and another thing. If this matters to you as much as my first paragraph, all I can say is "Good luck."
My wife, who does not drink coffee and considers coffee makers to clutter the kitchen counter, does not mind me keeping this one out as it has a very small footprint. I haven't used the programming feature because I don't need to have my coffee waiting for me when I get up in the morning.
But this 4-cup maker from Mr. Coffee has won me over.
I had my eyes on the much more expensive Zojirushi 5-cup maker and therefore was skeptical when my wife bought this coffee maker. The carafe pours without a drip or dribble.
It works flawlessly and brews just the right amount for my needs - 24oz. I measured the temperature of the coffee - 175F, which is spot on according to coffee brewing afficianados.
I also put my coffee in a thermos right after brewing, so I needn't concern myself with the automatic off. If you are looking for an excellent, affordable and flawlessly working small coffee maker, check this one out.
